Westside Child Psychology is a private practice in Calgary, AB that caters to the assessment and treatment/counselling of children and adolescents, as well as offering parenting solutions and support to families. We are a professional, newly built office in Aspen Landing that provides a boutique, fresh, and fun atmosphere for both clients and staff.

Seeking to add psychologists to our growing team:

Westside Child Psychology is seeking to add a registered psychologist to the team (that currently consists of six psychologists and two office administrators) who has the natural ability to connect with children and their families.

We are seeking a counselling/treatment psychologist to provide support to clients post assessment, as well as to take on new counselling clients.

Only registered psychologists with previous experience working with children, teenagers, and families will be considered. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years experience.

This role provides flexibility in days and hours of work depending on preference and availability of clinic space. Ideally the candidate will be willing to take on between 10 to 24 client hours per week.

 The ideal candidate:

  1. The candidate is required to have formal training and experience with counselling of children, adolescents, and families. The psychologist in this role will not be conducting psychoeducational assessments.
  2. Multi-modal counselling training and experience preferred (e.g., a combination of at least two modalities such as CBT, ERP, DBT, ACT, Play therapy).
  3. Able to interpret psychoeducational assessments and implement strategies and recommendations provided post the assessment process.
  4. Provide direct counselling services with children and young adults, as well as parent support for a variety of developmental concerns including:
  • ADHD
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Learning Disabilities
  • Intellectual Developmental Disorders
  • Communication Disorders
  • OCD
  • Anxiety
  • Behavioral Challenges
  • Giftedness
  • Emotional Regulation
  • Depression
  • Social Perspective Taking and Social Skills
  • Executive Functioning challenges
  • Separation and Divorce
  • Peer Support

 

Qualifications:

  • Registered Psychologist. Provisionally registered psychologists will not be considered for this position.
  • Active permit to practice with the College of Alberta Psychologists.
  • Competency in treatment and counselling of childhood disorders and in working with children, young adults, and their families.
  • Have professional liability insurance.
  • Able to provide a clear criminal background search with vulnerable sector check.
