Are you looking for an opportunity to utilize your strong psychological and clinical assessment skills working within a multi-disciplinary team of professionals focused on making a difference in the lives of children, youth, and families? If so, then we want to hear from you! The Provincial Campus Based Care (PCBC) is a program for youth ages 12-17 experiencing a wide range of emotional, psychological, mental health and behavioral challenges. You will be a key player in the expansion of programming and services which will include implementation of Neuro-sequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT).
The Psychologist will also work with other Psychologists across the Provincial Campus Based Care (PCBC). Some of your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • In this role, you will be responsible for working closely with Multi-Disciplinary Team in the development and implementation of individual treatment plans and ensuring that proper monitoring mechanisms are in place. Drawing upon your strong assessment abilities, you will conduct psychological assessments which involves interviews with youths to determine their mental state and making provisional diagnosis, where applicable, with recommendations for further assessment and or treatment.
  • You will be involved with identifying strategies and using a variety of therapeutic approaches that will be used in individual, group, and family therapy.
  • This role may also include a supervisory component where you will be expected to supervise Psychologist 1’s, University Practicum Students and provisional Psychologists in a manner that provides the best possible service in accordance with parameters of the position. You will have the opportunity to support staff in building their capacity in their practice approach, analysis of information and theory/research to practice.

To be successful in this position, you must demonstrate strong leadership, critical thinking skills and ability to work within in a multi-disciplinary setting. You will have related theoretical knowledge of childcare practice; assessment, treatment, and behavioral management, as well you will draw upon your exceptional written and verbal communication skills to be effective relationships with others.
