Psychologist Contract Positions in Canada’s North

With Northern Counselling and Therapeutic Services (NCTS) (www.northerncounselling.ca)

Join our team!

We are a team of Counsellors, Psychiatric Nurses, Psychologists, and Clinical Social Workers with decades of combined experience developing and delivering in-person and remote-based mental health programs, counselling services, psychological assessment, and training and capacity building services in communities across northern Canada. We work with organizations, all levels of government, communities and private sector organizations.

NCTS works with an associate team model, hiring independent professionals on contract to deliver essential mental health support services, with a client-centered, culturally safe and community-oriented approach. Our associate model relies on a core of dedicated counsellors who have extensive experience working with northern and Indigenous residents.

NCTS is currently expanding our team to meet our contract needs for itinerant counsellors (able to travel) as well as for our remote-based contracts for various communities and customers. This work is agency style work, including both short critical response services, as well as longer-term, re-occurring contracts in communities.

  • NCTS is interested in receiving CVs from Psychologists who are registered with their applicable regulatory bodies that allows them to obtain private practice insurance.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience required
  • Experience working with Northern/Indigenous communities essential
  • All successful applicants will receive full orientation, training, and support by NCTS.
  • Contracts are paid competitive hourly or daily rates, daily per-diems, and full travel expenses where relevant. All hotels/air fares are covered.
