Edmonton Public School Division is seeking two permanent, full-time Psychology Consultants to provide a range of assessment and consultative services to support students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. The successful candidate will work with schools to help facilitate educational programming to meet students cognitive, behavioural and social-emotional needs.
Job Duties:
- providing classroom-based consultation for universal programming strategies and consultation specific to individual students
- administering specialized and functional assessments for students
- making recommendations for referral to additional Division resources or to external social services, medical or community agencies
- participating in school-parent conferencing and providing individualized programming recommendations
- acting as a member of Critical Incident Support Services, providing support for students after an unexpected or traumatic incident
- providing brief counselling when incidents affect the safety, health and well-being of the school community
Education/Qualifications
- Master of Education in Counselling Psychology or School Psychology
- registered with the College of Alberta Psychologists
- a minimum of three years related experience including experience providing psychological assessment and counselling, preferably for school-aged children
- experience with developmental, cognitive, behavioral, and/or learning assessments for children with complex physical/medical, developmental, and learning problems including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- excellent communication, collaboration and consulting skills
Rate of Pay
$3,355.10 – $4,291.00 bi-weekly
