WHO YOU ARE

You are a Registered Psychologist that values working for an innovative and purpose-driven organization. As an integral part of our team and reporting to the Manager of Clinical Services, you believe in the use of a bio-psycho-social-spiritual treatment model in combination with medical-assisted therapies to help clients overcome deeply embedded traumas that prevent them from living fully in their everyday lives. You want to be a part of our pioneering rotational treatment model and provide intensive and short-term therapy. You have experience working with adults across various occupations with an emphasis on treating first responders.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Provide individual trauma therapy utilizing EMDR and/or ART
  • Conduct effective assessments of client status
  • Facilitate psychoeducation groups (Based on ACT, Sleep Education, DBT Skills, Mindfulness, and Family Support)
  • Conduct WCB assessments for Traumatic Psychological Injury Screens
  • Assist in grounding and reflection post psychopharmacological treatment
  • Work collaboratively with other therapists by sharing a client caseload, as we provide an innovative model of therapy working closely together
  • Participate in weekly case consultation with an interdisciplinary team
  • Ensure timely completion of session notes and provide reporting to third parties and community referral sources
  • Participate in mental health promotion activities and contribute to establishing and maintaining mental health and addictions community resources

 

WHAT YOU BRING

Education: Master’s level degree in counselling psychology or a related psychology degree is required. Registration and membership with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP) in good standing is required. Must hold own professional liability insurance. The successful candidate must be a Registered Psychologist by the start date; however, the interview process can commence while the candidate is provisional.

Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the field of Addiction and Mental Health is preferred. Experience in comprehensive mental health assessment/triage and treatment is required. Experience with individual, group & family psychosocial intervention and counseling is an asset. Experience with Complex PTSD is an asset. Experience working with a collaborative team and consulting with other professionals is an asset.

Functional Knowledge: Advanced skillset in communication, ability to demonstrate continuous learning, professional self-development, and excellent case management and assessment skills required.

Technical: Proficiency in computers, Microsoft Office Suite and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is required.

Background Check: A clear Criminal Background check with Vulnerable Sector check is required to start.
