2020 Annual Banquet & Conference
Call for Research Posters
The Psychologists’ Association of Alberta (PAA) invites all psychologists, provisional psychologists, and students to participate in a poster session spotlighting research or innovative clinical practice at the CAP & PAA Conference – Psychology IS Health, on 03 October 2020 at the Telus Convention Centre in Calgary.
The poster should present your research in a highly understandable and compelling manner for psychologists across diverse specializations (think “elevator pitch”).
Additional criteria for submitted posters:
- You are the principle researcher: the majority of the work has been completed by you
- Your research makes a notable contribution to the profession of psychology
- Your poster will be evaluated for both the content (i.e. originality, focus, relevance to the profession etc) as well as for the design qualities (i.e. readability, appeal, graphics etc)
PAA will review all poster presentations on both content and originality. The winners will receive a monetary award of $250, sent to the primary author.
All primary authors of selected posters will receive a 50% discount on the cost of conference registration.
Donate your gently used psychology books at the conference!
The 2018 conference had a table designated for free gently used psychology books and it was a hit! Lots of people asked where it was last year – so we are bringing it back for 2020!
Bring your books with you to the conference or contact Brittany (firstname.lastname@example.org) to make arrangements.
Support your local food bank
There will be a box available for donations to the Calgary Food Bank at the conference. They accept non-perishables, fresh produce, baby & pet food, as well as other items such as hygiene products and supplies for their birthday party kits.
Full details about what is accepted and the current most needed items can be found here: https://www.calgaryfoodbank.com/wishlist/
