Clearview Public Schools and East Central Catholic Schools Requires a Psychologist
Clearview Public Schools is seeking a dedicated, energetic, and compassionate individual to fill the full-time position of Psychologist at Stettler Elementary School and Christ-King Catholic School in Stettler, AB. We are looking for either a Registered Psychologist (R. Psych) licensed to practice by the College of Alberta Psychologists, a Clinical Psychologist specializing in the assessment and treatment of mental health disorders, or an Educational Psychologist who can support students with academic, emotional, and behavioural challenges.
This position is a part of the Integrated School Support Program (ISSP) initiative which is funded through the Calgary Police Youth Foundation (CPYF) and has been created to provide a comprehensive and layered approach to support students from a holistic perspective. The goal of the program is to build resilience in children and youth, improve academics over both short and long-term and enhance pro-social behavior.
Clearview Public Schools and East Central Catholic Schools have partnered with CPYF to hire a Psychologist to work within Stettler at the elementary school level for a one year term, to be renewed annually for up to 3 years.
Reporting directly to the Clearview Director of Student Services, the Psychologist will provide a psychosocial perspective to assess, plan, and provide culturally sensitive counselling and therapy services to students experiencing mental health challenges.
Duties include:
- Conduct assessments to identify mental health needs;
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans;
- Provide counselling and therapy using evidence-based modalities such as CBT, DBT, play therapy, etc.; monitor students’ progress and adjust treatment plans as needed;
- Provide reports and documentation of assessments for students;
- Assist and provide professional development opportunities staff;
- Collaborate with external professionals/agencies towards integrated understanding and support of students;
- May facilitate psycho-educational and therapeutic groups for children and families;
- Advocate on behalf of the child and family as appropriate; and
- Provide program evaluation and reports to CPYF.
