BATTLE RIVER SCHOOL DIVISION is seeking applications for the following:

POSITION: Division Psychologist (FTE 1.0)

LOCATION: Battle River School Division, Camrose, Alberta

INTENT: Battle River School Division is seeking the services of a qualified and experienced Psychologist for specialized assessments and consultation. This position is responsible for coordinating and conducting specialized assessments and consultations to inform programming and support for diverse learners. This position will work collaboratively with division and school teams. This position is permanent and will commence on March 3, 2025. While we are seeking a full-time Division Psychologist, part-time opportunities may be considered. The Division Psychologist will work under the direction and supervision of the Director of Inclusion.

This position is open to Internal and External Candidates

General Duties:

  • Conduct specialized assessments (including psychoeducational assessments) and consultant support for students with diverse learning needs
  • Provide written reports for all formal casework with appropriate, current, and research-based intervention strategies, recommendations and diagnoses
  • Coordinate referrals for contract psychologists and consultants, and ensure adherence to educational psychological standards of practice
  • Provide follow-up consultation and support to school staff to ensure recommendations are understood and accurately implemented
  • Provide professional development support to school staff to develop enhanced capacity to program for diverse student needs and create an inclusive learning environment
  • Support critical incidents by providing expertise and guidance as required by the Coordinator – Health and Wellness
  • Support multi-disciplinary team and case conference meetings
  • Ensure the Standards for Special Education and Alberta Education coding criteria guidelines are followed
  • Guide and support School Administrators/Teachers with the interpretation of assessments and reports as they relate to coding requirements and programming implementation for students
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Inclusion

Position Requirement (Qualifications):

  • Master’s Degree – Educational Psychology preferred
  • Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP)
  • Knowledge of and adherence to the Canadian Code of Ethics for Psychologists, CAP Standards of Practice and CAP Practice Guidelines
  • Experience conducting and interpreting standardized assessments
  • Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, written, analytical and time management skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
