The Edmonton Police Service- Emergency Communications & Operations Management Branch is currently seeking one Registered Psychologist or Registered Clinical Social Worker who is specialized in Trauma Therapy with First Responders to work with Emergency Communications Officers (ECOs) after operationally critical incidents. Preference will be given to those with additional training or willing to take training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Recent Traumatic Episode Protocol (EMDR R-TEP).

Interested candidates must be willing to undergo training with Edmonton Police Service Clinical Psychologist Keli Furman for the Edmonton Police Service Reintegration program.

Interested applicants must be willing to make a 1-year commitment with Edmonton Police Service – Emergency Communications & Operations Management Branch.

Interested applicants must have the following qualifications:

  • All applicants must be in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists (registered psychologist) or Alberta College of Social Workers (registered clinical social worker).

 

  • Applicants must have graduate training in clinical psychology/social work from a recognized post-secondary institution (a strong background in counselling psychology/social work will be considered an asset).

 

  • Experience in a clinical role involving personality and mental health assessment will be considered an asset.

 

  • Previously demonstrated successful experience working in a first responder environment will be considered an asset.

 

  • 2SLGBTQ+ knowledge will be considered an asset.
