Service Description

Lionheart Foundation provides access to financially disadvantaged youth (aged 12 to 25) and their families struggling with an anxiety-related mental health issue to longer-term and individualized community-based therapy. This service is provided through a structured intake, referral process and confidential online application form, which is reviewed and approved by Lionheart Foundation staff.

Referrals to contracted therapists are coordinated by Lionheart’s Program Team to ensure appropriate therapeutic alliance and clinical fit.

Value to Therapists Partnering with Lionheart Foundation

Partner therapists with Lionheart Foundation receive appropriate referrals that align with their clinical interests with respect to preferred target populations (youth and families, eating disorders, grief and loss, specific marginalized populations, etc.) and, when appropriate, support therapists to offer group support in addition to individual therapy.

Therapists working with Lionheart provide subsidized services near their market rate to those who may not normally be able to afford such specialized and intensive services otherwise.

Lionheart believes that treating the family and support system is an important aspect of supporting youth. As such, we support clinicians to work with each client’s individual support system and do not prescribe a frequency or limitations on sessions for clients in the subsidy program. The Foundation’s approach to healing may require more frequent/intensive services depending on each client and their unique needs and as a result, we support each partner therapist to determine a clinical plan that is in the best interest of each client.

Finally, Lionheart provides training opportunities and regular clinical consultations with best-in-class educators to all network therapists within the field at no or very reduced cost to support ongoing professional development and continuing education credits.
