Your Opportunity:

The goal of the Step-Up Step Down program is to provide intensive live-in treatment in conjunction with community support for youth and their families so that the youth are able to re-integrate into their home, school and community. The program collaborates internally and externally to provide consistent, comprehensive, and individualized clinical services to youth across both the live-in and community settings.

The program also increases the capacity of youth (and their caregivers’) to manage the youth’s addiction and/ or complex mental health needs through a collaborative and enhanced approach. As a psychologist II, you will be an important part of our multi-disciplinary team. You will listen deeply to clients, their families, and other staff members so that you can provide excellent psychometric testing or therapy with the ultimate goal of providing helpful, actionable, and constructive ideas to our clients and our team. You work well with other members of the team because you know that all members of the team play an important role in the client’s success. As you will be a part of the larger Children’s Addiction & Mental Health portfolio, while your primary location will be at the Step-Up, Step-Down program, you will be supporting other locations in the portfolio such as Unit 39 at Red Deer Hospital, the Children’s Clinical Services/Outpatient Clinic, PChad Program, and others as developed.

You will have an interest in frontline service delivery, in addition to research, outcome measures, quality improvement, clinical supervision, and psychological assessment, as these are important aspects of the role.
