Registered Psychologist / Provisional Psychologist

CanLearn Society is a Calgary-based non-profit agency that provides educational psychology and literacy services to all ages. CanLearn Society’s quest is to create, use, and share knowledge to remove learning barriers and support lifelong learning. We provide an impactful wide range of programs and services, including assessments, counselling, ADHD coaching services, and literacy programs to support children, youth, adults, and families living with literacy, learning, attention, and related mental health challenges to learn and thrive.

Mission

CanLearn Society helps children, youth, adults, and families living with literacy, learning, attention, and related mental health challenges to learn and thrive.

Our Impact

We serve over 700 clients every year, with 87% or more reporting a positive experience with our team. Families and children increase their early literacy skills in programs such as Literacy Begins at Home, and 90% of parent participants are more confident in supporting their kids learning.

 

The Position:

Registered Psychologist / Provisional Psychologist, contract position

Responsibilities, Skills, and Abilities:

Key responsibilities include:

Direct provision of counselling services to clients

Part-time contract work

Required Qualifications:

  • Masters or Doctoral degree in psychology
  • Registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP)
  • Previous experience working with children and adults with learning and attention difficulties
  • Proficiency and experience counselling children, adolescents, and/or adults
  • Specializing in ages 4 through 12 is an asset
  • Excellent track record in working in a team environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
