McAtee Psychology is Hiring: Somatic-Focused Therapist & Women’s Health Specialist
McAtee Psychology is a collaborative private practice in SW Calgary, providing counselling and assessment services to both neurotypical and neurodivergent children, teens, and adults. We are currently seeking two Calgary-based clinicians — a Somatic-Focused Trauma Therapist and a Women’s Health Specialist — to join our growing team.
This is a meaningful opportunity to expand and lead services within a values-driven, affirming environment. At McAtee Psychology, we value excellent client care and are looking for professionals who share our commitment to collaboration, curiosity, and connection.
About the Roles
Somatic-Focused Trauma Therapist
You will provide counselling and support to clients navigating complex mental health challenges, specializing in somatic and body-centered practices. This includes working with neurodivergent clients (ADHD, Autism, learning differences, sensory processing challenges), addressing co-occurring concerns (anxiety, OCD, emotional regulation), and adapting therapeutic approaches to diverse communication and processing styles.
Women’s Health Specialist
You will support women’s mental health across the lifespan, with a focus on how neurodivergence may uniquely present in women (e.g., ADHD, autism, masking, burnout). You will also provide support around issues such as infertility, perinatal transitions, parenting stress, hormonal changes, menstrual-related mood concerns (e.g., PMDD), and peri/menopause.
Both roles include opportunities to collaborate with our marketing and leadership team to build awareness of your services and grow a sustainable caseload that reflects your expertise.
Key Responsibilities (for both roles)
- Providing individual counselling and parent consultations as needed
- Adapting therapeutic approaches to client needs and populations served
- Maintaining morning and/or afternoon availability for sessions
- Collaborating with the marketing team to promote your services
- Maintaining a working knowledge of all services provided by McAtee Psychology
- Sharing input on enhancing service delivery and accessibility
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree or higher in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field
- Provisional or Full Registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP) OR the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW)
