Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a transformative, evidence-based therapeutic model that helps individuals develop self-awareness, self-leadership, and internal harmony. This workshop will provide an overview of IFS theory, explore its application in clinical practice, and offer experiential exercises to deepen participants’ understanding. Attendees will learn how to identify and work with different parts of the internal system, facilitate self-led healing, and integrate IFS techniques into their professional work. Through guided practice, case discussions, and interactive engagement, participants will gain practical tools to enhance their therapeutic effectiveness.
This workshop will be an interactive, experiential learning experience designed to introduce participants to the principles and practice of Internal Family Systems (IFS). The session will include a blend of lectures, discussions, experiential exercises, case applications, and Q&A to ensure engagement and practical application.

Corinne Frechette is a Registered Psychologist based in Edmonton, Alberta, with over a decade of experience supporting adolescents and adults through therapy. She holds a Master’s in Counselling Psychology and is currently completing her doctorate in psychology. Bilingual in French and English, Corinne brings warmth, curiosity, and deep respect for the human experience to her work as a therapist.
Corinne’s clinical background spans private practice, school-based services, correctional settings, and community mental health. She has facilitated trauma recovery groups, conducted psychoeducational assessments, and supervised provisional psychologists. She has also taught undergraduate and graduate courses in counselling and educational psychology.
Corinne is deeply influenced by the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model, which she integrates into her work to help clients develop greater self-awareness, compassion, and healing. She is a Level 3 trained, Certified IFS therapist and Approved Clinical Consultant with the IFS Institute.
Cancellation and refunds may be applied for by email or phone call to the PAA CPDO. Cancellations received fourteen (14) days prior to the Continuing Professional Development activity will receive a full refund of the registration fee, less a $35.00 + GST processing fee. PAA reserves the right to cancel any activity, in which case a full refund of the registration fee will be provided.
The Psychologists’ Association of Alberta (PAA) is approved by the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) to offer Continuing Education (CE) for psychologists. This workshop is offered for six (6.0) hours of CE Credit. Full attendance at the workshop is required to receive Continuing Education Credits. Partial credit will not be awarded, and late arrivals or early departure will preclude awarding of Continuing Education Credits. PAA maintains responsibility for the program.
