Medically Managed Intensive Outpatient Programming

By fusing a bio-psycho-social-spiritual treatment model in an innovative, medically managed intensive outpatient program model, people can overcome deeply embedded traumas that prevent them from living fully in their everyday lives. Dr. Tanguay will explain how mental wellness can be achieved for those experiencing Mood Disorders, PTSD, Trauma, Anxiety, Depression, Addiction, and Chronic Pain conditions with evidence-based psychotherapy delivered by an interdisciplinary medical team. He will explore the evidence of the innovative intensive outpatient program designed to resolve the symptoms of these often treatment resistant disorders and support people to return to work and their healthy lives in a timely manner.

Dr. Tanguay is a psychiatrist who completed two fellowships, one in Addiction Medicine and one in Pain Medicine. He is a clinical assistant professor with the departments of Psychiatry and Surgery at the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary.
Dr. Tanguay is the co-founder, developer, and Chief Medical Officer of The Newly Institute, a rehabilitation and return to work program dedicated to providing medical and psychological intervention for people living with mental health disorders such as PTSD, depression, anxiety, addiction, and chronic pain with evidence-based psychotherapy and trauma-focused therapy.
The Psychologists’ Association of Alberta (PAA) is approved by the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) to offer Continuing Education (CE) for psychologists. This workshop is offered for one (1.0) hours of CE Credit. Full attendance at the workshop is required to receive Continuing Education Credits. Partial credit will not be awarded, and late arrivals or early departure will preclude awarding of Continuing Education Credits. PAA maintains responsibility for the program.

Cancellation and refunds may be applied for by email or phone call to the PAA Office. Cancellations received fourteen (14) days prior to the Continuing Professional Development activity will receive a full refund of the registration fee, less a $35.00 + GST processing fee. PAA reserves the right to cancel any activity, in which case a full refund of the registration fee will be provided.
