Ethical decision-making can be complex at times. This interactive workshop focuses on the how and what of the ethical decision-making process.
Psychological practice invariably leads to encounters with third parties and organizations requesting access to our work: From a client requesting a simple treatment summary letter, to a lawyer’s request for a copy of a clinical file and even a subpoena to appear in Court. Most of us practice with the hopes of avoiding these types of situations—leaving us ill prepared to respond to them when they do and potentially exposing us to professional disciplinary action.

This one-day professional workshop is designed for psychologists seeking to integrate Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) into their practice. PRT is a novel and revolutionary approach to pain management that retrains the brain to accurately interpret and respond to bodily signals, effectively breaking the cycle of chronic pain.
Major depression has been extensively studied and there has been an enormous growth in the field in recent years. There are now many well- established and psychosocial risk factors for depression, some of which are addressed in treatment, but many of which are not given the attention they perhaps require.
While there will be a brief review of diagnostic criteria, the workshop will address those with an existing knowledge base who are interested in developing greater clinical skills and understanding related to the first responder population.
Obsessive-compulsive disorder is not rare and it typically starts early in life. Too often it goes undiagnosed or misdiagnosed for many years.
The practical strategies covered in this workshop are supported by recent innovative neuroscience research that explains what keeps us stuck, and points to how the practice of future oriented mental imagery can generate breakthroughs – to virtually rewriting history; for thriving and not just surviving.
An ever-evolving group of communities, the 2SLGBTQ+ individuals, couples and families have become more of our therapeutic and political focus over the years. There is more research now than ever before about this group of people and their needs, and yet there is much that is not yet known about them.
While the field of psychology continues to move toward greater cultural sensitivity, research, education, and practice remain grounded primarily in dominant Euro Western approaches.
