PAA Ethics Round Tables (PERT), is a peer-support program to enhance ethical professional practice and decision making. Beginning Fall 2021, these facilitated peer sessions are now available for registration. For available sessions, visit PAA’s Continuing Education page.
Program Mandate
The PAA Professional Ethics Study Round Table Program (PERT) provides members with an opportunity to participate in a free, confidential study round table that will target topics of professional ethics in psychology.
Suggested Topics of Discussions:
This program is not intended to provide clinical supervision nor to offer an expert opinion or detailed consultation on one specific case. This program is not personalized professional guidance such as that offered by the College of Alberta Psychologist’s Professional Guidance program nor is it one-to-one practice advisor support such as that offered by the PAA Practice Advisor Program. These sessions will not be recorded, and minutes or notes will not be taken.
Would you like to attend the PAA PERT discussion?
Are you a PAA member? All Provisional, ECP, Full, and Life members are eligible to apply to attend these round tables.
Facilitator Opportunities: PAA is seeking members to facilitate these focused sessions on professional ethics. If you’re an experienced facilitator, consider this new opportunity to support your profession. Please fill out this form
The Facilitators qualifications and responsibilities:
This program operates through the volunteer time of members (PE Round table facilitators) ratified by the PAA Board and not currently under order of discipline with the College of Alberta Psychologists. One – two facilitators will be present to facilitate each offering.
Facilitators will open study round tables with a land acknowledgement, description of the process for the study round table, speak briefly to the theme of that round table session and then posit a few key related questions to be discussed during that session.
PE Round table Facilitators do not set up their own study round tables or take consultation requests directly from the public or members; they are not peer consultants or supervisors. If facilitators are contacted directly, they are to redirect the member to the PAA listing of study round tables or to either the PAA Practice Advisor Program or CAP’s Professional Guidance Program.
PAA PE Round table Facilitators provide per meeting reports to the PAA and are honored key contributors to our profession and association.
