Janet Caryk, Registered Psychologist, interviews Erin Northey—OCD lived experience advocate and author of ‘How I Thought I Might Kill My Husband’—for a candid conversation about navigating harm OCD.
Welcome and Introduction by Janet (10 min): Brief overview of harm OCD and the OCD cycle.
Interview (35min): Candid conversation with Erin about her story, challenges, and what helped/with a focus on her intrusive thoughts and ERP therapy.
Q&A (15min): Open conversation with attendees, practical advice and therapist tips. PAA will control the Q and A.
Janet Caryk is a Registered Psychologist and Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. She has been practicing for over 35 years. She is the co-founder of the Centre for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, where she primarily works with clients 10+ years of age, providing exposure-based treatment. Most of her clients are living with OCD and anxiety disorders. She also provides clinical supervision to psychology graduate students and psychiatry residents.

The Psychologists’ Association of Alberta (PAA) is approved by the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) to offer Continuing Education (CE) for psychologists. This workshop is offered for one (1) hour of CE Credit. Full attendance at the workshop is required to receive Continuing Education Credits. Partial credit will not be awarded, and late arrivals or early departure will preclude awarding of Continuing Education Credits. PAA maintains responsibility for the program.
