Assessment and counselling are integral components of the psychotherapy process. Assessment occurs in the initial stages and is often ongoing to inform the psychotherapy process. Topics for this workshop will include mental status examinations, psychometrics, screening measures, and limitations of self-report. By the end of the workshop, participants will have a broader understanding of general assessments for psychotherapists.
This Webinar provides an overview of Dr. Jerome Sattler’s latest book published in 2022—Foundations of Behavioral, Social, and Clinical Assessment of Children, Seventh Edition, and a discussion of how COVID-19 affects children’s mental health. Each participant will receive a copy of the book as part of the registration fee.

This workshop will have both a professional and personal emphasis. Professionally, it is intended for those who are interested in learning more about working with older clients and their families. Personally, it will explore participants’ own planning for future aging and negotiating age-related transitions such as retirement
Clinical supervision is the cornerstone in developing Clinical / Counselling Psychologists. Most supervisees report receiving adequate supervision; however, shouldn’t we strive to provide exceptional clinical preparation in supervision?

DBT is the gold standard treatment for severe emotion dysregulation, particularly for clients who are at high risk for suicide or who have multiple comorbidities. This workshop will begin with a description of the transdiagnostic biosocial model of emotion dysregulation and how this theory informs case conceptualization and treatment
The workshop provides an overview and practical application of the concept of evidence-based practice (EBP). Three major aspects of EBP will be emphasized: (1) empirically supported treatments (e.g., manualized and principle based protocols), (2) evidence-based psychotherapy relationships and responsiveness, and (3) routine outcome/progress monitoring. Clinical application of each aspect of EBP will be illustrated via case examples, role play, and demonstration. There will be opportunities for discussion of challenges and means of incorporating evidence-based principles into your practice.

Personality. How often have you heard someone say: “It's just the way I am/She/He is/They are.”? What do you find first comes to mind for you? A word used but often misunderstood and even misapplied at times. A model for the New Big Five is used to zoom in on personality, and four of the five major sections are unpacked. This six-session composition is designed to unpack, educate, reorganize, and vitalize the perception of how to work with your clients.
