This seminar will provide a broad overview of the CAP registration process and the licensing exams required to practice as a psychologist in Alberta.

Obsessive-compulsive disorder is not rare and it typically starts early in life. Too often it goes undiagnosed or misdiagnosed for many years. Clients living with OCD are often offered therapy strategies that actually backfire and make their symptoms worse. In this workshop, we will be discussing the gold standard treatment for OCD called Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). This evidence-based therapy is significantly underutilized by mental health practitioners. The workshop provides an overview of family-based ERP treatment planning for OCD and anxiety issues.

This presentation explores decolonizing the brain, drawing on the work of Dr. Michael Yellow Bird, a leading Indigenous neuroscientist and scholar who calls for healing the impacts of colonization through mindfulness, ceremony, and Indigenous knowledge systems. Combined with the Mi’kmaq guiding principle of Two-Eyed Seeing, this session offers an integrative framework for healing that honors both Indigenous and Western understandings of the brain, trauma, and resilience.

This 3-hour webinar offers a comprehensive primer on tele-assessment, equipping clinicians with foundational knowledge and practical tools to conduct psychological assessments remotely.

This workshop draws on community-based Indigenous research and national reports, engaging attendees in understanding how they may better serve Indigenous people, from Indigenous perspectives.

Due to popular demand, this workshop expands on the original Indigenous Wisdoms in Practice: Land-Based Tools for Wellness workshop, going deeper into the technical aspects of integrating iyiniwak (Indigenous) wisdoms into therapeutic practice.
