Bio for Referral Service: As a clinical psychologist, I have worked in the field of medical rehabilitation and related areas for over 25 years. I was most recently employed at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital in Edmonton, a prestigious and specialized rehabilitation hospital. Patients here suffer from catastrophic injury, specifically; amputations, complex orthopedic injuries, severe burns, spinal cord injuries, general neurological disorders, and brain injuries. Medical rehabilitation is a specialized area of psychological practice, focusing on achieving optimal management of acute and chronic medical conditions and disabilities. I currently maintain a small private practice offering services to persons who have suffered psychological injuries and/or medical injuries/illness. I conduct comprehensive psychological and vocational assessments for WCB, Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH) and various law firms. I provide in-depth counselling and therapeutic services for folks experiencing psychological challenges arising from an injury/illness/personal trauma. I am specially authorized to provide Traumatic Psychological Injury (TPI) services to first responder and military populations and I maintain a specialty in the area of complex and persistent pain management. I help people learn to manage chronic disability and move forward with their lives after a catastrophic or life changing event. When referencing professional affiliations, I am a former treasurer, vice president and board member for the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta (PAA), and as an observer on the Canada-wide Council of Professional Associations of Psychologists (CPAP). I also hold certification in Medicolegal expertise with the Canadian Academy of Psychologists in Disability Assessment (CMLE ON).
