Clinical supervision is the cornerstone in developing Clinical / Counselling Psychologists. Most supervisees report receiving adequate supervision; however, shouldn’t we strive to provide exceptional clinical preparation in supervision?

DBT is the gold standard treatment for severe emotion dysregulation, particularly for clients who are at high risk for suicide or who have multiple comorbidities. This workshop will begin with a description of the transdiagnostic biosocial model of emotion dysregulation and how this theory informs case conceptualization and treatment

The workshop provides an overview and practical application of the concept of evidence-based practice (EBP). Three major aspects of EBP will be emphasized: (1) empirically supported treatments (e.g., manualized and principle based protocols), (2) evidence-based psychotherapy relationships and responsiveness, and (3) routine outcome/progress monitoring. Clinical application of each aspect of EBP will be illustrated via case examples, role play, and demonstration. There will be opportunities for discussion of challenges and means of incorporating evidence-based principles into your practice.
